“Sometimes it may … happen that our own light is about to go out and is brought back to life again by what we experience in another person. Thus each of us must think in great gratitude of those who have kindled flames within him.”

Those words were written by our namesake, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, a pioneering physician-humanitarian who dedicated his life to serving others. Schweitzer’s life certainly had its share of boulders — but moments and encounters like the one in his quote gave him the inspiration to push forward.

An art event in Boston on Thursday, June 2 (VIP Group Art Show Preview) and Friday, June 3 (First Friday Group Art Show) will illuminate moments of that very sort, while raising funds for the Boston Schweitzer Fellows Program.
