Discussion Question 4:

The Harlem Children’s Zone’s Baby College program avoids the problem of “self-selection” (in which the parents who sign up are already the most engaged parents, and the ones who need help the least) by sending recruiters into the heart of Harlem, knocking on doors and persistently seeking out parents and parents-to-be unlikely to sign up on their own. How have you dealt with the issue of “self-selection” in your community work?
