We recently announced the selection of 243 new U.S. Schweitzer Fellows — graduate students who will spend the next year carrying out service projects addressing health and its social determinants and developing lifelong leadership skills.
Now, we’d like to take a moment to thank the Schweitzer program alumni (Fellows for Life) who participated in the process of selecting our 2012-13 Fellows. From reviewing applications to interviewing prospective Fellows, these alums drew on their own Schweitzer and community experiences. They worked with us to select people and projects that will be strengthened by the Fellowship’s structure, training, and mentoring — people and projects that are already beginning to impact health disparities.
